For over 25 years, I have worked with clients from across the lifespan and around the world. My doctoral training at the University of Southern California equipped me with skills to tailor effective solutions to each person's needs. I am particularly skilled in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, trauma therapy including Cognitive Processing Therapy, and exposure-based therapies for anxiety disorders. Additionally, I have training in Time-Limited Dynamic Therapy to help clients resolve attachment style problems. I have assisted many men in navigating the stress of divorce, especially unwanted divorces. Executives, creatives, and professors have come to me to help them balance work and personal life. I offer both in-person and online sessions to accommodate various client preferences.
Beyond my clinical work, I am an experienced university teacher and researcher. I hold a second Ph.D. in quantitative and mathematical psychology from The Ohio State University. My research in decision science, health psychology, and cancer care enables me to approach treatment with a broad perspective. This allows me to develop unique strategies for complex problems such as gambling addiction, major life decisions, and the evaluation and management of risks. My teaching and research help me stay current with new developments in clinical practice, including advancements in psychological treatment, assessment, and testing.
Clients describe me as easy to talk to, empathetic, and capable of presenting new perspectives on problems and avenues for achieving goals.
In my testing practice, I offer comprehensive diagnostic testing for adults who wish to know if they have ADHD, and in the context of legal issues. In addition, I offer therapeutic assessment, a way to use psychological testing to boost the effectiveness of therapy itself.
Currently, I work as an in-network provider with many major insurance companies and Medicare. I can also provide documentation for clients who wish to claim out-of-network benefits for their sessions. My out-of-pocket fee in 2026 is $150 per 45-50 minute session. Consulting, educational, research analysis services, and psychological testing are negotiated on a case-by-case basis depending on the scope of work.
